Unable to get MMDVM hotspot
Unable to get MMDVM hotspot
Hello all. New member here....Mike is name and have question. I have created a Zone called HOTSPOT and created channels for talk groups. When launching WPSD dashboard, I see incoming stations but when I try to transmit, the dashboard and MMDVM do NOT show my trasnmit information going out...but see and can hear this simplex channel that i am using on a different radio. There seems to me a toggle or setting that is not correct prohibiting the MMDVM hotspot to transmit. The hotspot on transmit and receive on another radio works just fine. So not sure what setting needs attention. Looking for some assistance please. Thank you Mike. 73
Re: Unable to get MMDVM hotspot
Mike, I had a similar problem with my Anytone 878. Turns out the calibration was way off. You don't say what software you're using.. Pi-Star? WPSD? Anyway, both have ways to correct calibration if that is the problem. ~ Amy
Re: Unable to get MMDVM hotspot
As mentioned, most likely a calibration issue.
Probably not with the hotspot if it's working fine with other radios. You don't mention what radio you have, GD88 I assume as mine was the same with my hotspot. Which I managed to get it working with the GD88 and 878 by adjusting the calibration slightly on the hotspot.
The new CPEditor has a calibration tool to adjust the radio itself.
You will however need a spectrum analyzer or SDR to see the output as you change the offset.
I haven't tested the changes on a hotspot but you can get the alignment on frequency. If it was off already.
I'd check before to see what the actual center frequency is before adjusting.
Otherwise you should be able to use MMDVMCal to adjust the hotspot calibration using multiple radios to get the lowest BER for them all.
