Help

Post by SP9ABW »

Hi,
I'm looking for an older version of the MM7DBT Codeplug Editor program, specifically versions 0.3.0504.1, 0.3.1207.1, or 0.3.1231.1
Does anyone happen to have it? Please let me know :)
Greetings,

Can I ask why you require one of those specific versions? Those versions are about 2 years old now.

Hi, thanks for the reply, it's a great app... Congratulations! I'm looking for a version that allows easy importing of DMR and FM repeaters. I know you've abandoned this feature in the new version. Best regards from frosty Krakow ;)

Ah I see, the last release of the old version should do this as well.
Can't remember the version but it'll be 0.5.something.

The repeaterbook import will be added to the new version as well :)
Just haven't had a lot of free time to work on it lately.

Not necessarily.. You can use the original CPS to write your old codeplug to the radio. Then read it using CPEditor and it should then be the same config as the original CPS.
Save it as the JSON and you can now fully use CPEditor to build your codeplug.

I did think about adding a converter function that would take the old .F136 or .ini codeplug files and convert them to JSON for use with CPEditor but the file format is too volatile and could change with any updates to the original CPS.. Plus it is a strange format.. Using complete mess of tab-separated hex/binary/ascii all jumbled together
It's easier to just let CPEditor read the raw codeplug from the radio and go from there.

Thank you .
I am hoping that the scanning function is an easier command ...there is like basically 3 to 4 steps to go thru to scan a scan list ( like local analog repeaters ) And each b time you power up you have to go thru those same 3 or 4 functions ...we shall see

No, it should work with most recent firmware versions. Really old ones from ~2022 may have some issues as new features were added later.

If you set the scanlist for each channel then you don't need to manually select a scan list each time. Just start/stop scan from the button hotkey and it should auto select the scan list from the current channel.
Although that still requires being on the correct channel for what you want to scan but at least then when you power on the radio, it does usually remember the last channel so then it's just one button press to start scanning that list.

These are commercial radios first so some functions are weird or hidden in the menu's submenus as for commercial use it's usually a set and forget. Staying on only a few defined channels.
Being brought over for HAM use it's more complicated with usually many talkgroups on different repeaters and frequencies etc..
